Default 95 problems that I need help with

I have recently been given a 1995 f-150. I'm a mustang man and have only owned two f-150s in my life. I had no clue what all was wrong with it and have sunk a lot of money into it.

NEW PARTS-water pump, timing chain, timing chain cover, new pulleys, spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor, distributor cap, rotor button, solenoid, starter, battery, fuel pump, fuel filter

Everything else is I guess from 95. I'm a pretty good mechanic but still don't know everything and learn new stuff everyday.

When it cranks up I have to advance timing and idle scrw to get it to stay cranked. When I finally get it to Idle correct it sounds like its sucking in air behind the upper intake manifold. I have bought all the gaskets because I was going to slowly bring everything back to life. But I have recently taken the intake breather apart and the MAF sensor apart to clean everything out and I have oil in the bottom tube on the manifold. I need to get the manifold off of the truck and have taken the ground strap and the intake holder off and all 5 manifold studs out and I can wiggle it around in the front but still cant lift the intake off. What am I missing? And what other problems do you think I may be facing with this truck?

Thanks for your opinions, time, and patience.

To take the upper intake off? Did you take off the torx(?) Bit bolt? Could have swore there was a total of six bolt including that one. Also, you shouldn't ever have to adjust the idle screw from its stock position. If your timing is/was at stock just leave it there until you actually figure out why it won't start properly. As for the noise behind the intake is it possibly the spot where the pcv connects by a hose to the back of the intake?

Have you actually tried to narrow it down and see if its an electric or fuel issue? What troubleshooting have you actually done if any at all? Have you pulled codes?

It's amazing how much money people waste instead of pulling codes.

It just sounds like they shotgunned parts and hoped it would work.

No I didn't shotgun parts. I knew which parts had to bee changed initially from it sitting up so long the truck did run. But then it died out. I don't have a way to pull codes cause im in the middle of nowhere. I know its probably gonna be the pcv valve. But now its a matter of getting the intake off to go further in depth. I pulled all five intake bolts and the one on the side that has the ground strap I have not seen a torx bolt so I may possibly bee missing something. Keep in mind fuel injection is not my strong suit. Thanks for ya'lls help by the way

You don't have a paperclip or short piece of wire?

as far as electrical the battery, starter, alternator, spark plugs, plug wires, distributor, cap, and button are new. everything is plugged in and seems to be all there. when I changed all that it got better but still wont stay crunk up or idle properly.

And as far as fuel goes. Injectors aren't too terribly old and neither are the rails. lines are not leaking or clogged and new pump and filter have been added. gas treatment was also used and its still wrong

Have you tested the ICM or coil?

That sounds pretty advanced for someone that can't insert a paperclip to pull codes.

Step 1, pull codes.
