Default 95 E40d Pan

I intend to change the pan on the 95 with the e40d, azone shows the dorman pan for the 96 but says doesn't fit my 95, are they goofed up or is there an actual difference in pans? the dorman part number I'm looking at is 265-805, also anybody have a good pert number for a pan gasket. since the tranny rebuild I have a small leak, looks like the pan bolts were way over tightened, since I want the drain plug I am going to fix myself.

The dorman pan will fit. The one with the drain plug that fits the 4R100 trans will fit the E4OD. You can get the ATP or Napa reusable rubber/steel gasket for the 4R100 and that will work just fine.

This is assuming you have a 2WD E4OD trans and don't need the deep E4OD pan.

Does Dorman or Ford sell a pan with drain plug for the 4r70w?

4r70w pan w/ plug. Apparently is called a "u-haul" pan. Not sure of 2wd and 4x4 differences on that trans though.

mine is the 4x4, summit lists a moroso pan but states for lightning only, the ford number above looks like a good option

The E4OD/4R100 pan is the one I bought for next time I service my trans. I also have 4x4 and its an exact match with the exception of the drain plug.

you have the moroso or the Ford F81Z-7A194-BA ? Depending on where you look it says not compatible for the 95. WTF? was there a difference for the 95 years or is the info just wrong?

Um...dorman? I gave the part number to a friend that works at O'Reilly. I got it from a thread somewhere and the guy used it on a 1994 bronco E4OD so I'd say any info saying it doesn't fit a pre-1995 e4od is wrong. As far as I know nothing changed on the pan on the E4OD (except 2wd vs 4x4 I think, 4x4 has a slightly deeper pan or something) but like I said, I bought the part number provided for my 4x4 E4OD and its an exact match to stock plus a drain plug.

95 is just kind of a design benchmark for the E4OD because of all the factory upgrades to internal parts so any of them before 95 are considered obsolete/old without the upgrades done to them. I don't even think most places except a pre-95 E4OD as a core if you buy a new one because if they tried to reman it they would have to spend extra money to bring all the components up to date.
