91 Headlight Problem
#11
My lights are pissing me off, When I turn them on my dash lights go out and so do my tail lights, then if I push the *** in a little every thing comes on but my head lights turn off unless I mess with it for a bit and find a happy medium. Any help would be welcome.

Ok guys, the switch didnt entirely fix it. But it fixed it for the majority of the time. So that switch was indeed bad. But there is a short or something going on. Leading me to this question, is there a schematic in the chiton's handbook? And does anyone have one here other than it? And any advice about this issue? Thanks guys for the support. Almost Got-r-done.

Years back, the main headlight switch had an internal auto reseting circuit breaker, perhaps its still used on your 91. Ask the Ford dealer about this before spending money.

He means it had a circuit breaker that resets itself. I've never heard of that. You may need the switch too, you at least need to pull it and check the plug on the back. They are known to get hot and melt, mine did it and I had to crimp a new terminal on one wire to repair it.

The switch in the dash? it melted? will this be obvious Sean? or am I going to have to really dig deep for it? And I know where the switch is. AHAHAHAHAHA. Ill check it tomorrow. And I didn't think our trucks had that on it.

You won't have to dig deep, just look at the plug on the back of the switch. Mine was pretty obvious, melted plastic, brittle and breaking, and black where it was burned. I didn't change the switch, I just added a crimp terminal on the wire that was at the center of the burn. It was the main power supply to the switch.
