Default 88 Tranny problems

Hi all!

I have a 1988 F-150, 302 with a C6 transmission. I recently replaced my leaky valve cover gaskets. After this, I've developed a transmission issue. I'm driving along and get up to about 35 MPH and the engine just revs. I have to pull the tranny down to 2 to get to work.
I've had some co-workers suggest replacing the throttle position sensor. Does that sound correct?

Thanks

Rob

The C6 has a kickdown cable hooked to the throttle body. It is very important to the function of the tranny and you probably had to remove it to do the work you did. Make sure you didn't forget to put it back on, and it must be adjusted correctly or serious transmission damage will result.

Thanks for the fast response. I checked and made sure I put it back on. I'm going to adjust it per the Haynes Manual that I have.
