Default 88' Stutter

Quick question I hope

Just purchased an 88' F150 XLT Lariat with 5.0L V8 seems to run fairly well. When I am driving and press on the gas with a little more enthusiasm it starts to shake until I press more then it seems to steady out. Happens every time and was wondering what the thoughts might be on that.

No it actually only happens when I am driving or starting to drive and I press down on the accelerator. It just starts to make the whole truck kinda jump/vibrate pretty steadily and rough. Taking it to get inspected tomorrow so hopefully will get some insight into this problem and report back to see if anyone knows of some cheap fixes.

I thought that it might be the U-Joint as well but when I went under the truck for a closer inspection it didn't seem to be that bad. Might pull it anyways. Cheap replace. Also I have a code pulled up on the Anti-Lock breaks. Might also cause that problem. Not to sure. No real sound...just a violent shudder.

mines a little older. so i couldnt tell you much about the abs system. ive never dealt with it. i tend to stick to older vehicles, for reasons like that.

The truck is 24 years old with less than 103k miles on it. That's pretty old with hardly any miles. Something I have wanted for a while to have around for hauling crap to and from places. We shall see tomorrow what the problem is.

Was born in Biloxi, MS and live in a pretty southern county in Maryland right now. Always wanted something to feel those roots a little stronger. This FORD has done it so far.

Default Answer?

Did you ever figure out what the problem was? My 93 with the 302 5.0 has done the same thing since the day I bought it. Stutters under slight strain going up hill until I put my foot down and then it goes no problem. Just trying to figure out how I could straighten that out.
