Default 88 inline 6 keeps stalling

Ok heres the deal. My dad has a 88 f150 w/ the inline 6. After it heats up, it stalls. Acts like it looses fuel. Now if you let it sit for about 5 mins it will fire back up and run until it gets warm again. It has never overheated and the coolant is full. I have changed a lot of parts chasing this and I am completely stumped. I even took a heat gun and heated the ignition module on the dizzy to see if it was the problem. No luck. Any advise is appreciated.

List of parts changed:
plugs
wires
cap
button
ECT
coil
all 3 fuel pumps

Sounds like the PIP sensor (Stator) inside the distributor. You should replace the TFI at the same time. Assuming you've verified that Spark is what's dropping out, & not fuel. Need to discern which is missing first. Then we can get somewhere. If Fuel pressure drops out, then your talking Fuel Pump relay. It would flatline you regardless of tank choice. Pick one of these up for $23 bucks: http://www.handsontools.com/Equus-In...ol_p_5574.html

You can take the TFI module in to be bench checked, but if either the PIP or TFI is pooched, replace both. Many people replace the distributor, rather than disassembling, replacing the PIP (about $14-22) & reassembling the distributor.

That really should have been on your list of fun things to do! Do that & see what happens. Then your going to need to be able to take fuel pressure readings off that little valve stem on the injector fuel rail.

Sorry I forgot that in the list of parts Ive thrown at it. Also have changed the thermostat.

I know it def heat related b/c it will run longer sitting my garage w/ the hood up than w/ the hood closed.

Keep the ideas coming and thanks for any/all advice.

My egr valve got stuck on my truck and it acted like it was running out of gas. Could be your problem.

If stuck open, it was, air to fuel ratio wise.

If you're not loosing spark, you need to check fuel pressure or your twisting in the wind! I'm thinking the fuel pump relay may be dropping out.

You need your error codes too.

Not much we can do for you w/o that info, except help you spend money on stuff that may not fix anything.
