i desided to remove every thing down to the block and replace every seal and gasket so far i removed all intack seal and they where still good and i removed passenger side head and everything was good there too im taking off the drivers head know and ,water pump, timing cover and chain that has over inch of play . . . . . . . . . .
i lose a good 2L if i drive like 5 mins but the water pump is bad to it leaks alot at high rpm and you can put drive gears on oldewr fuel injection i seeen it done just have to put a diod where the nock senser is so i been told i ran put atf in all the cylinders and ran the motor to try to clean out any build up is there is any
Check the heads carefully for cracks, particularly around and in between the valves. They can be very tiny and hard to see, but if they go to a water jacket they will leak.
i wire wheeled the hole head shinny and i didnt see anything at all so i painted them and turn them upside down and i put gas in all the heads to find out if any leak

It doesn't matter if the cam is 180 out, since it turns once for every 2 turns of the crank it will line up when the crank comes around the second time. The only problem will be if you put the distributor in 180 out because the cam wasn't in the proper position.
