Nope different internal parts, but would be an interesting thing to swap in a F150, just work out the shifter location. And the T-5 is rated at a higher torque rating.

Is the T-5 up to the task of towing and hauling? I've wondered about the swap myself...seems like there's a lot more available used and a larger aftermarket for them.

If it has a higher torque rating I don't see why it wouldn't stand up to towing.

TKO 5 speed is much stronger than the 5 speeds that came in these trucks. I've yet to see a write up on a swap yet. It won't be cheap but i'm almost 100% sure you can do it. I was thinking about going one better with a T 66 speed then I could run a deeper gear for towing. If you spend a few hours on the Net I'm sure you could find someone who is willing to help you put the necessary parts together. I spent about $5,000 on the T66 on my Stang about 5 years ago with all the goodies and the heavy-duty hydraulics i needed. I had lots of help from some Miustang Racers up north so it was pretty painless.

Quickest and cheapest swap is to get a ZF-5 5 speed transmission.
