5.0 engine block ?

Default 5.0 engine block ?

What goes where the white hole is in the pic? Its at the rear of the block. Sensor or something? Its a 88 f150 5.0l.

we no the hole is a sensor but the bbk intake goes back and hits it so we removed it and need to know if we can plug it or if the sensor has to go there? we have another 5.0 block in the garage and it doesnt have the hole for the sensor in it. we are kinda stumped! preshate the help

Probably just there, or possibly for the trans dipstick? Ford puts holes everywhere for different set ups.

cant be the trans dipstick its onthe engine block. it had a sensor in it. we just didnt know what the sensor was for?

Might be a knock sensor. The knock sensor retards the timing when pre ignition starts or the engine starts to ping.

The threaded side looks like a coolant temperature sensor, but I think you would notice coolant in there. I don't have the 5.0.

If its at the rear of the block, I think its the knock sensor. Does the hole goes all the way troguh . can u see any water or oil coming out. if not thats teh knock sensor.
