Default 4 low

What are some options of why 4 lox wouldn't work but 4 high does? I have a 94 f150 xlt. With the 5.0 auto trans. Push button 4x4. Light doesn't even come on. They don't sell new buttons that I have found

Did you put it in neutral? Try that first.

First check the solenoid to make sure it is moving into all positions.

If the solenoid is ok, then the low range mode fork may be wore out.

He's right try in neutral. These transfer cases will only shift to 4low if the trans is in neutral and the truck isn't moving

I have tried neutral at a full stop. Light doesn't even flicker. I will have to check the solenoid.

No solenoid. You have a shift motor and a module. Usually when there is a problem the 4X4 light will flash.

A couple of things, I believe LMC Truck carries the switch. They certainly have the shift motor.
Sometimes you have to hold the brake while in Nuetral.

Not sure about that, when my switch was bad it didn't do a damn thing. And I searched LMC up, down, forwards, and backwards and I didn't see it. Ended up looking on ebay and found one.

Got low gear button fixed. Loose wire. Next issue every time on accelerating there is a hard jerk. Like the tranny kicking into gear (but it is below 5mph when its not shifting). Has automatic locking hubs. Is that normal?

Sometimes the trans kicks when letting off the gas on acceleration. Nothing close to it in 4wd. High doesn't jerk its only low.
