Default 1995 power window trouble

the window in my truck will roll down very well, but is struggling to raise it, i have to help it along, the window hunches up and down like it's stuck, doesn't seem to be binding at all though, does this sound like a motor or should i keep checking?

It could be binding, but if it's not, the likely cause is the motor gear. It's a really sad mixture of metal and plastic that is destined to destroy the plastic in time.

Be forewarned - to get the motor out, you'll need to drill a couple of holes in the inside of the door to get to the bolts. They are marked with a punch. You can even buy the plastic part, but I tried that and it killed the new one in about a month. Going for the entire motor is the best way to keep yourself out of that door for awhile.

Any of your local parts stores should have them - autozone, o'reilly, napa, etc. If you don't have a chilton or haynes manual, it's going to seem like a really crazy idea once you get things started. It's really not too tough though, and we can talk you through it!

I always take out the whole regulator. I don't like putting extra holes in my doors.

If you drill out the holes like was said above you don't have to remove the regulator. I remove the regulator too so I don't have to drill holes in the door.
