All of the ac controls are still there like it was originally, I gained the fan speed and temp readout on the 4.2" display because on the mft bezel the fan speed is a up and down switch. The same goes for the radio controls, what buttons are not available can be done through the steering control switches or voice commands. The remaining buttons that are rarely used that are not available through voice or steering control the factory panel would need to be plugged back in. That's why I'm going to add a second connector behind the glove box, for those times I need to set the clock, bass, treble...etc

Got this iPad project finished, and I'm very happy with how it turned out. I picked up a 32gig wifi/lte with data plan mini with retina display. A lot of cutting needed to be done to both the trailer brake controller cubby/inner dash, and display casing for the 4.2" screen to fit perfectly flush with the panel. A little bit of the radio bracket on the left side needed some trimming also. Another obsticle I came across was the lightning connector stuck out too far so a 90 adaptor was required. My options were to buy one from soundmancaraudio for $80 or make my own for $30. It was kinda scary hacking into a brand new lightning adaptor straight out of the box but it needed to be done and works like a charm.
I came up with a nifty spring loaded piece of abs plastic to keep light tension against the back of the iPad to the back of the bezel. I will post pics of that later.
A couple problems I found are..
One: the glare is pretty bad when the sun hits it just right. So an anti-glare screen protector is gonna be installed. I was hoping I wouldn't need one because it takes away from the retina display.
Two:If parked in direct sunlight for awhile the over temp message on the iPad appears, so I need to remember to always put my sun shades on.
