I used a 2x8 and carriage bolts I had lying around the house. Only thing to buy was a quart of flat black paint.

What are the carriage bolts for... Just to be used as anchor points anywhere along the 2x8?

I cut holes in the 2x6 to double as handles and to allow clearance for attaching the hooks. The bolts go through the holes for the anchor points. Here is a close up.

I like your design, gives high and low anchor points. Also looks sturdy without being extra heavy.

Well done

I took off the FX4 sticker since I didn't like the red letters on Ruby Red. I swapped it with a gray FX4 sticker.

One reason why I like my solution is because the tool will be in the exact same place regardless if my truck does a few flips. Having an escape tool in the console could be very hard to find after an accident (I also have a knife with a punch in my door pocket but expect it would fly around). This tool is also spring loaded so you don't need to wind up compared to other tools.

This is a cheap tool that I've never tested (and may not work with our laminated windows) but you should definitely think about what would happen to your escape tool in an accident.
