If you see a semi or large boxed straight trunk coming forget it, post pone your pass until past them.

If you really are concerned about this being a safety issue, I personally think you are just paranoid, go put hood pins in all 4 corners of the hood. Plymouth did this with the fibreglass lift off hoods on the '69 roadrunners. No hood latch or hinges to worry about ever again.

Looks way cooler on a roadrunner than an F150 though

Very cool : The 67.5" F150 shows evidence of lifting/warping thru the middle an back on the driver side thus cable tie down seems simple an inexpensive preventative maintenance thing. Sort of a no brainer I believe.

Like I said, dismiss it all , don't replace your crap rear shocks an don't put tie down cables on your rear of hood area. It's all about you. I have them in mine now. Am I angry ? Not at you or anyone threading. I know the oem won't do anything but GM's recall of 3.5million for programming issues over air bags affects their hoods. I am also aware that there are several hundred aluminum truck owners here. So far 17% think the oem should do something. Multiply that out to 100,000 owners an that gets you 17,000. Multiply it out to 200,000 and it becomes 34,000. It also means 166,000 dont give a rats *** tonight. Ultimately it's all about U. I have already done what I intend to do. Lol

Still have the original shocks on mine. No need to change them. Nothing wrong with them. 13,000+ miles that include over 6,000 of them towing this.

Oil changes and tire rotations are the only reason it's been in the dealer Quick Lane.
The dealer will never see mine in the quick lane. The 2.7L needs at least 10 minutes for the oil to drain down to the pan to show an accurate fill an it only gets the top synthetic oil not blend crap. They will never start mine an drive it out with a quart of oil in the pan. On a side note U keep floating your boat in crap. 17.5% Want the OEM to respond to this thread. 4 have voted out of 165 members of the thread & believe the OEM needs to issue a recall under the specific warp issue of the hood under causes from specific conditionsl

Now. Only happened at 55 mph an very carefully controlled. Truck as far off the road as possible an F150 driving its normal center lane. You can tell by the painted stripes intersecting the middle of the hood. If the F150 was real close to the line the painted stripes would be much farther forward. (this shuts up crapologists). Both drivers knew its a slo/mo. You cant hide from this very real fact. It is real only as gentle as its gonna get under these types of conditions. Turn up the sound an drag the red ball to repeat over an over.
