Default Horrible fuel mileage 7mpg?

Hey, been having a few problems out of the truck recently, slowly coming after them, i would break down and buy a new motor, but want to use this pos as learning experience, anyways, im getting an average of 7mpg, took a 16 mile trip and costed 10$ pretty horrible, have replaced just about every part i can think of, from the iac to the o2 sensors, the coils are autolite not motorcraft, but the readings are within spec, egr valve is a bit dirty, cleaned it as much as i could, not sure what else to do, thermostat?, bad iniectors?, idk anything helps

Pretty bad unnless your running huge tires.

Reminds me of a friends 69 camaro with a 454 built for drag racing in high school
He got 4 mpg

Working on friends friends car one afternoon, needed something from parts store. Had to give him gas money to go get it.

Back to your problem. Have you checked compression?

Looking at your Facebook post,

Putting $10 in @ empty, driving 16 miles and then having to put another $10 because the needle is in the same place in isn't really the correct way to calculate the mileage... lol

There is another member here with exactly the same problem. You two guys should work together on this.

Just keep throwing parts at it - you'll get it eventually.

You nailed it, that is your problem. I had a friend in high school that.... well you know where this is going. Change your radio to am.

Geez JUST USE ONE USERNAME. Stop filling this forum with crap. Change your radio to the Sony xplod and your catless engine will get you back to 24mpg and 400hp.

Maybe your ear drums need to have the cones replaced, very common.
