I have yet to hear back from my dealer except to inquire as to what kind of controller I'm installing.
I think Ford needs to issue a service bulletin instructing dealers how to remedy this ASAP.
It seems ridiculous that we were charged $1,000 for the Tow Package upgrade and we are unable to have functional trailer brakes.
I would have preferred the tow package came with the brake controller rather than the trailer backup that I'll probably never use. It's probably a cheaper option for Ford so they'd make more money doing it that way too. I can back up a trailer myself, but I can't make it stop faster!

2108 F-150 trailer brake controller, no Fuse # 24
I just cannot believe paying $34,000 for a 2018 F-150, 4x4, 101A, XL, with Class IV trailer hitch (aka: trailer tow package 53B) and not having the 12-volt for the trailer brake controller. I just checked my fuse box and don't see the fuse # 24 (or a fuse holder for it). How many people have this issue? Are you 100% sure before me pursuing it and making a fool out of myself? It took me several months and pages & pages of comments to find out that none of the 2018 F-150 (with trailer tow packages 53A, 53B, or 53C) come with transmission oil coolers.

I told two local Ford Dealers about what you guys are saying and they didn't even want to verify, if the 12-volt signal is missing or not. They told me to call Ford Customer Service @ 1-800-392-3673 and ask to open up a case to talk to the Ford Regional Representative. PS: for people who question why I didn't get the brake controller, this is my first truck and the dealer lied to me about towing capability and even the brake controller. I could have spent $1100 more and gotten everything (Max trailer tow package, 53C).

Yup, you have the same issue as the rest of us. Good luck. I’m sure your answer will be the same as ours.

I'm somewhat regretting adding the trailer tow package on a 2.7 because it seems now like what it gives me is so minimal, but I figure at least it gives me ammo if my truck has this issue. I'll be able to say I paid $1000 for a tow package that I can't connect a brake controller to.

Slightly off topic, but...

While we may see no more *auxiliary* oil-to-air units in front of the radiator, the newest trucks "do* come with transmission fluid coolers, but the heat exchange happens solely as oil-to-water; within the radiator tank on the cool side. Your radiator is a heavier-duty unit than the one, say, in my '16 5.0 XLT with no tow package. These latest-generation torque converters with their substantially-sized lockup clutch don't heat up the fluid like they did in the old days. They only run unlocked at low engine and vehicle speeds.

Sorry to hear about the trailer brakes controller wiring SNAFU, though.

Default Nope

It's mounted in front of the transmission and it's coolant to oil. Not in the radiator at all.

2018 STX with factory hitch and 7 prong plug.
Trying to install a Tekonsha P3, but no power to controller. no fuse and no solution from dealer. At least I know I'm not alone. It amazes me that Ford would sell a truck without the ability to add trailer brakes. What good is all that towing capacity they brag about? I rather they had kept the extra 700 lbs and gave us a fuse! At the very least they should have to pay for an after market solution. Maybe work a deal with U-Haul if their tech people can't handle it. Do they really not care about their customers!?

Default Yup

Oil to water is much more efficient. Dumping the heat into the air in front of the radiator as before wasn’t the best idea anyway. I suspect
The new system will work better.
