Default Key Fob.....sigh

I bought a new 2016 Lariat back in late January. So far, great truck. Very happy.

When I can come to grips with this monstrous sized key fob, it'll be even better.

3 times since I bought the truck the panic button has activated the horn while the fob was in my pocket. It can do this from great distances, and through concrete walls. I've had many key fobs over the years and never had a panic button issue.
This is also my first "keyless" starting vehicle. What's the first thing I do when I head to the truck?
Reach into my pocket for the key I don't need....

Life's tough.

I'll get by......

I used forscan to make the panic button a "two press" for activation. No accidental panic alarms....

Stay away from the skinny jeans.

I haven't hit the panic button yet, but I have unlocked it by accident.

In two years I've only set off the panic button twice. Having less on your keychain helps because it's usually something else on the keychain that presses the button.

PSA: Careful about posting nice high-res pics of your house keys. They can be duplicated.

I kept setting it off on mine as well, repeatedly, in spite of getting a silicone jacket to go over it.

Got sick of it so I opened up the keyfob and cut off the "nub" that activates the panic button. I've never used the panic button in 40+ years of driving so I'm not too concerned about not having a panic button. At least I won't have to put up with the annoyance any more!

Doesn't really help unless you also know where he lives

Get a Keysmart key holder..... love it and reduces the bulk into a more manageable system. Also, as stated above, 2 press panic or totally disable panic through forscan is easy and worth it.

Yeah, you would need more information. Like his full name, and what state he lives in.
