Lol!

I replaced one of mine using panel bond. The other one, I had a body guy weld in new metal. I'm interested to see which one last longer, although, I hope I don't find out any time soon hehe!

Yours came out great, it looks like! How long did it take you and how difficult a job did you think it was?

Edit: Looking at it a little closer and trying to figure out exactly how you went about welding it. Is it a butt joint or did you overlap the metal? And how hard was it to level everything out? Sorry for all the questions. This is just one of those problems that most older vehicles have and I'm sure I'll encounter it again.

Yeah i welded them in. i just tacked it in various spots so i didn't warp the metal. I've done good body work before, but i wasn't going to spend a lot of time on this beater truck. i was just tired of seeing the duct tape on it from the previous owner. The way i did it was instead of cutting the quarter panels out to fir the replacements exactly i cut out the rust and trimmed the replacement panels down to a few inches larger than the hole and slid it behind on the top and sides and flushed up the bottom. i tacked the panel then ground the welds down and filled it in with fiberglass and then bondo. again i didn't use my straight line sander nor my DA sander. i did this in about 6 hours in my driveway then used about 8 cans of spray paint and painted the whole thing. i gave it the good enough to drive in the snow and take hunting job. LOL
