I need to purchase a new fuel pump and possibly sending unit for the rear tank of my 1996 f150. (4.9) Any know brand of fuel pumps to avoid? I need to get a pump and possibly a sending unit. Spectra sells a complete unit, Pump and sending unit, through Amazon. But there are quite a few bad reviews on line. Bosch sells a pump only then the sending unit is separate and the sending unit is almost as much as the pump. Delphi also has a pump available and it is sold the same way. For what I read there is quite a bit of rewiring to make any of them work, none appear to be plug and play to the original ford harness. Any suggestions or past experiences you would like to share? Thanks

I needed​ the same thing in my 94 a couple years ago. I went with the Spectra complete unit from RockAuto and I haven't had any issues. The complete MC unit was $300+ which is just too much.

And rewiring is simple. It will come with a sheet that tells you which factory color to attach to the new wires.
