Default ignition control modual

i am trying to fix a ford f 150 stick 4 speed 6 inline 4.9 l i got a crank no start electrical issue no spake to plugs or coil followed in back to the ignition control modual no spake there ether where do i go from here. yes it is an 89 ford f-150 i replaced the module yes i bought the tool, thats not the problem. There is no spark running to the module it,s self so what should i be looking next? i am trying to follow the problem backwards. Also thank you for the advice. ps i replaced the igntion coil and the icm.

Do you have power to the coil in the first place ?
Next suspect would be the PIP (pickup module) inside the distributor. That does what ignition points used to do.

Agree with Chris. PIP inside distributor is probably your best suspect.

that is what i had came to as well when i was digging around trying to learn ok i will work on that next thank you so much here goes nothing.
