Default Gauge issue

i got a new radiator, water pump fan clutch and thermostat put in and now the water level gauge and the temperature gauge aren't working. The mechanic told me the wire that is threaded about the thermostat needs replacing but idk if that's the problem and what the name of that part is. Please help

302 ? the sensor on a standpipe above the thermostat is for the computer to be able to tell when the motor reaches operating temperature.
The sending unit for the dash gauge is at the very front driver's side of the intake manifold between the 2 front bolts.
The sending unit for the oil pressure gauge is below that on the side of the motor closer towards the oil filter.
You might have knocked those wires around.
