Default Fuel tank selection problem

On my 1987 4.9 EFI model, the fuel tank selection is stuck on the front tank. When the switch on the dash is flipped, the fuel gauge accurately displays the level in the back tank, but the pickup still drains the front tank (learned this the hard way).

Any ideas on what may be happening?

Thanks!
