Battery cable replacement
It matters HOW the frame & block are grounded... The highest-current devices on the truck are the starter & alternator, so they need the best grounding to work right. That's why Ford ran a continuous cable from the battery to the block. Since it ran past the frame anyway, the most-sensible way to ground the frame was with the tab soldered in the middle. If (for some reason) you don't want to do that, you can run a 2nd wire to the frame, but don't let it interfere with the block ground in any way.
