1995 I6 project
new owner of a 95 I6 (300) 2WD F150. So the project begins
So I know its an exhausted topic BUT the book says 10w-30 but this engine has 151K and I was thinking of going 10w-40 instead. I will be driving it in Oregon mainly so It rarely if ever freezes and over all climate is moderate....... opinions ?
Next I read that "swapping out your old stock points style distributor for an electronic ignition system. In our opinion, regardless if you have a stock motor or a high performance rebuild, it's number one on the list for "Best Bang for the Buck " http://classicinlines.com/DizzyCompare.asp
I know very little about ignition systems and not sure this is an option down the road for me ........ How do I know If I have the old stock points style distributor or a electronic one ?
Lastly can any one direct me to a link or video that would explain how to flush a coolant system by running water in the radiator until the engine reaches operating temp and "pumps" all the nasty out of the block thus bypassing the need to open the block drain plug or disconnecting everything.
Thanks for the advice and time ....... cant wait to take it out camping
