Default Seat Swaps

Hello, I'm new to the site and was wanting to know if anyone has done the plain XL bench seat swap, to either a 60/40 or even something from another type of vehicle? Maybe an Explorer or Expedition. What will fit and bolt up, pictures, etc.... Also how tough to add power seats where non power were? Any and all information will be greatly appreciated.

My worn out bench seat was switched out with a '91 (I think) 40/20/40 bench at a junk yard. My daughter had it done and the guys there did it in 15 minutes. I'm pretty sure it's a direct swap. If you search through this section, you will find plenty of people that changed there seats.

I replaced my bench seat with powered leather seats from a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I blew up. I was able to run power to them pretty easily, but my alternator couldn't handle the power being used.

In an 8th or 9th gen F-150, to swap from a bench seat to 60/40 seat set with a jump seat OR a set of captains chairs with arm rests and a center console mist expeditiously, you need to buy or find you one of these puppies:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1992-1996-Ford-truck-F150-F250-F350-Bench-to-Bucket-Seat-Track-Mounting-Bracket-/301291363624?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item46265d5d28&vxp=mtr
This seat assembly frame will allow you to mount 9th gen F-150 seats of any configuration to this frame, then mount the frame into the 4 holes you have in your floor of your truck where the bench seat mounted. This piece really is the BEST way to do seat swap. Thus frame was used in the Centurion 4 door F-150s from 1992-1996. I hope this helps. It is exactly what I used to swap my regular cab bench seat for two captains chairs and a center console. Good luck.
