Default Broken tank selector switch

Does anybody have any good suggestions for how to reattach the tank selector switch if the plastic that it screws into is disintegrated? You see, after reading The Collector's thread about Cluster Lights I decided to replace my burnt out bulbs and as soon as I grasp the back of the switch to unplug it the plastic where it screws into the back of the dash busted apart. It looks as though it was glued back in place once. And this was my grandfather's truck before mine and he had never done a thing with it. I just feel like there's a better way than super glue or duct tape.

yup glue, or get 1 for $25-40 at your local yard. for future reference, unscrew the switch, puts a lot less stress on the plastic that way lol.

It looks as though its been glued before, as you ca see in the picture, and I didn't really have much pressure on anything yet. Nor did I realize that there were even screws there.

That would have been the wise way to go. I didn't expect it to crumble that easily though

I have a dash bezel off of a truck with the tank selector, I decided to super glue the old one in its place, the only way to fix that is to super glue it back in place....

And.. I said Carefully remove that...not just Yank it out!
