Default Dumb question on map lights

Hey guys I’ve searched and can’t seem to find it but how can the map lights be changed out and does anyone know what three bulb types I need to replace the two maps and the dome light on a chrome unit in a 95? Thanks!

There are only 2 bulb types, and they're listed in the owner's manual. To change the map bulbs, remove the dome lens, back out (but don't remove) the 3 screws, and the chrome assembly will come down. But I'd never put a chrome one back up - it's SO much better to put in the later plastic dome/map assembly, like Ford did on most '94-up trucks.

Either way: use LED bulbs - not incandescent.

'92-96 trucks are nearly identical, so download the '96 owner's manual from Ford, and search it using CTRL+F (on a computer, obviously) for "bulb". But you can keep a copy of the PDF on your phone, so you can browse it any time.

BTW
How much did you pay for the plastic dome lamp?

This shows how I convert mine to LED:

Thanks for posting this. I was just thinking that my chrome fixture looks bad and couldn’t find a decent one - these are much easier to find. As far as wiring in, I assume no issues. More specifically, I would think that the wiring on a 1991 and the models these newer fixtures are designed for line up fine correct?
