Default Door Handle HELP!!!!

Ive got a 1994 F150 XLT 4X4 5.0 and when I close the driver door with me being inside the truck I can only reopen the door by rolling down the window and actuating the outside door handle. When I pull on the inside door handle its like it needs some tension adjusting on the cable. It's gradually been getting harder to open with the door and actuating further and further to the end of the handle pull and now it just won't open the door at all. How do I go about this and just how much do I need to adjust it? Thanks in advance!

you are going to have to remove the door panel and investigate.

Yeah it sounds like something broke - can't even diagnose it without removing the door panel.

Just fixed this last weekend, but mine wasn't the cable. The sheet metal (door) that the handle bracket bolts to was cracked and flexing too much to engage the latch. I had a 2"x3" scrap piece of 1/8" aluminum and placed it inside the door, marked and drilled it for a bolt, and grabbed a new bolt and nut. Works like new again. Just something else to keep in mind.
