Hey guys I want to change my instrument cluster to some blue leds but not sure how they would look. I know it takes 194 bulbs though. Just want to see if anyone has done that or something like that in a late 80s body.

Nope. Just stuck the bulbs in

hey do you remember how many bulbs it was that you installed? Also what kind I know they were led but what type?

 

I scraped the green film from mine but didn't do the lights yet. On my cluster without a tach, there are 5 lights.

 

It takes 5 194 style LEDs

 

Where'd you get the idea to scrape the film off just curious? I found our how to do it the hard way trial and error. Not sure what color your wanting the lights but I did mine red. sprayed vht red tint spray on the front and back. and used clear led bulbs. looks pretty good.

 

I'm scraping the green off my cluster as well. Never thought about vht red tint though. I may do that and just use regular bulbs. I know about scraping the screen off since I did it to my 2000
