Default Carpet change

I have a ‘92 f-150, im working on changing the interior to all black to have it match the future exterior paint ill be having done on it, personally ive never been a fan of red interiors in anything, but, i wanted to know where i could find a carpet or how i could do it myself, Ive looked around but dont know if the sources are reputable. I figured id come to the forums and see if i can get help on it.

Thanks.

When you list the specific ones you've checked, I can tell you what I specifically know about each one. Links to the pages with the carpet you want would be best.

Black was not a factory color for '92-96 trucks, so you're not likely to find high-quality carpet molded to fit that truck in black.

For any ebay seller's reputation, read the feedback. I've never bought anything from CarID. Lund is a manufacturer - not a retailer. IDK who the OEM was for these trucks' carpets, but they're NOT still in production or for sale by Ford, so it doesn't really matter.

My research into carpets has me to Auto Custom Carpets and they only sell through vendors (I listed sites below). I too am switching to a black carpet to replace my original vinyl liner.

I've used Stock Interiors twice and have been pleased. The only thing is that the fit is a little loose, or so it seems. The shape is there, it's just that I couldn't get it to lay flat, you know? It's been too long since I've seen the inside of a brand new car though, so my memory may be distorting my expectations. Over time it seems to conform better so it hasn't been a big deal. Maybe I just didn't let the carpet relax long enough between taking it out of the box and putting it in the truck. Still happy with the installation.

If you find gaps at the edges cut some from a hidden edge and put it under the main carpet. I had to do this around the seat belt tie-downs to the sides of the front seats.

You should also consider adding some dampening to the flat areas (floor, doors, rear walls), and put in some insulating material.at the same time. There's a rubberized roof membrane I got from HD that works as well as Dynomat (in my opinion). I don't see it now, but these at Lowe's are the same...

And the foil-lined pad is a good option to help keep the heat out from the floor and rear wall. Put some in the gaps between the ceiling supports also (some spray adhesive will hold it until you get the headliner back in place), as well as some spray foam in the supports themselves and you've cut a fair amount of thermal transfer through the roof.

I’ve always had good results by laying the new carpet kit out on the driveway in the sun for several hours. The longer, the better. The warmer it is outside, even better yet.
