Default Side mirrors

Mirror on my 1992 F150 I have this kind of mirror on the sides of my p'up. I can adjust them to see more out, away from the vehicle, or closer to the vehicle, but cannot adjust them up (to see more of the sky) or down (to see more of the ground). Is that just part of the design or is my just so old that it is stuck in place? Can the glass in these mirrors be replaced?

Too old and stuck in place and yes, the glass can be replaced by a glass shop.

If you remove the entire assembly from the truck, you can soak the mirror face down in about an inch of gasoline and that will loosen the silicone that's holding the glass in.
I don't know if replacement glass is available or not.
I took my glass out and through bolted the mirror housing, then used 3m body and moulding tape to reinstall the glass.
The original spring loaded ball joint was totally rusted away in mine.
My through bolt job is pretty rough looking, but on my truck it doesn't matter. I cut a bevel on a conduit coupling so I can adjust the mirror.

You can also replace just the heads and keep the swing arms. That’s what I did. Mine have little screws where the post goes into the head. If you loosen them, you can swivel the head. Not sure if you have those or not.

Used to have to drill out the Torx bolt holding the rusted mirror to the bracket to replace the mirror
Those mirrors have been rusting away since 1986 or so (Margaritaville) style

Where can I get the parts? and do you know the exact name for them? I would like to install a heater behind the glass, and possibly a camera in the glass. The mirror holder is thick enough to accomodate one.

I don’t have a clue about where to get the camera/heaters for them. As for the mirrors themselves I got on Amazon. Measure yours for the correct size as there are multiple sizes.

You can buy universal mirrors that fit both left and right, which I have done, but have not found a convex mirror to go on the right side. I've got a 3" round convex mirror in the top right corner, while it helps it's not the same.
