Default Paint matching

I have checked the tag on my truck and the two paint colors it uses are "medium scarlet" and "diamond white". I am looking for some touch up paint and am coming up empty with finding an exact match. Anyone know of any current colors that are close? thanks!

My local auto paint shop will mix it to match. They'll even put it in touch-up bottles and aerosol cans.

If you want to paint the hood then I'd have a shop do it. Anything out of an aerosol can isn't going to hold up long at all and it'll really look bad.

It's all paint. Doesn't matter if it's in a spray can or bucket, same stuff.

That's not true at all.

There are quite a few differences. Also, if he paints it he'll probably want to clear it. A clear in a spray can doesn't have the hardeners that are mixed into the clear that a shop would use. The canned stuff just won't hold up.

What exactly do you mean by "won't hold up" and "won't hold up for long"? How long are you saying exactly. I have a friend that rattle canned his hood and a quarter panel (paint and clear coat) and it came out fine and its going on...1 1/2 years now I think since he did it. Another friend rattle canned some parts on his jeep and it still looks good 5 years later.

It's the same stuff. It holds up just fine. I speak from experience.
