Default Not Aligned Door

My driver door appears to be unaligned and I was looking for some help. When you close the door normally it only closes half way then you have to open it again and slam it. But the door seems to be sagging so I was looking for some help on how to get the door in sagged and how I can get the door to close normal without slamming it.

Open the door and loosen the top hinge to frame bolts a bit.
Loosen the bottom hinge to frame bolts even less.
With the help of an assistant, wiggle the door up until your body lines match, and then re tighten the bolts, top first, bottom last.
It will take several tries, and seem very frustrating, but it can be done.

Good luck.

Change the hinge pin bushings, they are worn. You won't even have to adjust the door after that, unless somebody else tried to fix it the wrong way.

Well, yeah, he could do that too, I suppose.
I should have remembered that as well.

Open the door a few inches and lift up on it. If you can move it, then it sounds like the bushing needs replaced. If it feels tight and doesn't move, try adjusting it. I'm betting the bushing is worn, though. That's usually the case.

If it is the bushings should I just buy the kit and do the pins as well? Also do upper and lower correct? Should I do the other door too since the kit is cheap, or as the saying goes "if it isn't broke don't fix it".

Just found this thread. Where did you get your kit from and how hard was it to do? Mine is needing the same thing.

My dad did this with his xl before I bought it off him. I wanna say he got the kit or just the bushings from advanced auto. But for some reason I remember him saying he could get them at the dealership too. I will check for ya.

I bought the dorman kit for I think $6-$7 on amazon with free shipping, my drivers door you can see out when closed, just a little but door closes fine and appears lined up. I haven't done mine yet though, grinding off the original pin is only reason I haven't done it, never grinded anything before and don't want to start and make a mess and make door worse. Hey Andrew, see your pretty close to me in WA, I go through Shelton about once a month
