Cb whips
I recently acquired a 95 f150 xlt. She has the mounts for the whips and one coaxial cable running for one whip. I'm not too knowledgable on cb's but am learning. How to I go about installing the other whip because there isn't a cable running to the passenger side. I know I only need one antenna but should I just use a bolt to put the second one on or should I run a cable?
if its for looks why not. its not like it will improve much of anything unless your mounting one on the rear bumper then the other on the front.
I went with just the single 102" whip off the back. On a good day i can get georga from Maine

You need a cophase coax and two matched whips.

Do it right the first time. Lots of info out there for step by step cb and antenna install along with checking swr and signal output. Too much to try to rewrite the many web sites out there.
SWR is very important i have to agree with Unit505 do it right the first time. I did a bunch of reserch before getting my Cb in the airwaves, now i have a set up thats peaked and tuned to the point i can come over on peoples sterio systems if there close enough lol
I have two four foot fiberglass antennas on m toolbox. It's a plastic toolbox so I had to run a ground. If you do it right you can get some serious range. I can pick up Louisiana and Alabama most days. I'm in Ohio.

something small like our trucks you dont need 2 dual set ups.
I get a few Spanish speaking people on my Cb but i dont know if its from up north on the farms or actually Mexico
I dont speak Spanish. I bet we can communicate via Cb for sure
It looks better with two though, I like symmetry. And the trucks we used at work when i was a driver were a good 2 feet wider than now so it's understandable to have two. We had a ton of extra stuff after we upgraded all of the radios in them to the cobra ltds with Bluetooth. Hence why I even bothered. I rarely use it anymore since I have an office job now.
yeah the issue is with them so close like that your not getting any extra gain, the reason why the semi trucks run them on both sides is due to that massive chunk between the two antennas running ones alright but you loose range on the side that does not have one. hence why they use two.
