Default What rear gears to install

Looking for options on rear gear to install in my truck, 95 5.0 2wd, GT40 heads, e303 cam, headers and true duel exhaust. Engine runs strong, looking for a little more low end Getty Up? Thinking of 4:10’s any advise work be great!

What size tires are planning to keep on the rear? What are the current gears? What trans is in it right now?

Tire size in inches seems to increase ~6% from stock (29"?) through 35", and people's recommended gear ratios seem to fall pretty close.

Tire sizes: 29 -- 31 -- 33 -- 35

Using 6%: 3.55 - 3.76 - 3.98 - 4.22

I'd suggest testing your current build on an empty road and see what rpm the power comes on, then play around in a drive ratio calculator to see where you want to end up.

Oh wow, that highway gearing. I guess with that cam you might want to go all the way to 4.10's. At least being 2wd you have a lot of options to choose from for the 8.8 rear end.

Another option would be to look at getting a higher stall torque converter, or both. Really depends on what you want to build the truck for (racing, fuel economy, towing, etc).
