Default Transmission problem or something else?

I just picked up a 94 f150 XL 2 wheel drive with the 4.9L and 4 spd with overdrive manual transmission. I'm not sure if this is a transmission problem or something else.

The truck will take off very slowly even when given a lot of gas. It's almost as if the clutch is going out. I can even put it in gear while at a dead stop, put my foot on the brake and the truck will stay running without the clutch pushed in. Are there any sensors on this truck that will cause it to do this?

I figured the clutch was toast, but it never hurts to ask questions when problems have odd things going on.

I know it's a five speed. I just got into the habit of referring to everything by the way they do it at my local auto parts store.

I was leaning towards purchasing a clutch kit for this truck that was decent for light towing. Any opinions on what companies I should go with, and who I should avoid? It's been 5+ years since I put a clutch into a vehicle so I can't really decide what company to go with.

Well, if you don't want to sound retarded like the people in your local auto parts store then you might want to call it a 5 speed. M5OD Mazda 5 speed is what Ford calls it.

Ok when I feel like annoying you, or being "retarded" then I'll call it a 4spd w/od. Now if you'd like to sit here and belittle me please go ahead, I could care less.

I wasn't belittling you, it's just something that bothers me because there is a 4 speed with overdrive. Fourth being overdrive. Overdrive is a gear and is counted in the total. It can get confusing if you don't tell us the correct transmission.

It would be a good idea to call it a 4 speed overdrive though if you really feel like irritating him.
