So I am preparing to change my trans fluid and fluid filter on my 1991 4x4 f150 with a 5.8 and a e4od (I think, not 100% sure what trans I have) and I was wondering exactly what kind of fluid I should use. Mercon? Mercon V? Type F? And is there a brand that runs better or longer? What do you guys use in your similar trucks?

 

Mechron v dextron 3 i believe is the correct type. type F has not been used in quite some time. as for brand there IS NO better brand then Royal purple. thats what i used in my e40d. besides i think all the 9th gens use the same.
