Default Slipping trans...easy fix?

Ive got an old farm truck - 95 ext cab i6 with an auto...I'm guessing e4od. Purrs like a kitten but the trans slips a bit when starting out. With a little gas to raise the rpms itll suddenly catch and off you go. Shifts great after the initial catch to get it going. It does leak like a siv but even when topped of it slips. May catch just a hair sooner (lower rpms, but still catches vs a nice smooth takeoff)

As its a farm truck, I'm not looking to spend much.I'd just assume drive it as is until it gives up the ghost or the wheels fall off before i rebuild it. BUT, if its a cheap $50 solenoid or something of the like that i can replace just inside the pan without dropping the whole trans, then I'm game.

Anyone have an idea?

Filter ever been replaced?
You can get a new filter for about $22.
Replace the filter, if the pan is leaking, replace the gasket also.
Get a gallon of:

All done for less than $50.

Add on a little more $$ and install a drain valve while you have the pan off... or just get a new pan that already has one on it. You will not regret that.
