Quick HP?
so what head do you plan on swapping in?
i've got my timing bumped to 16,metal timing gear set, accel cap and rotor with brass terminals, MSD coil, motorcraft copper plugs,Taylor high energy plug wires, head is ported and polished, and the head and split on the intake are both gasket matched.

if no one has anything useful to say, stay off my thread. no ive never done a timing bump thats why im on here to make sure i get the right tools and do it right. yes ive assisted in a head swap. its time consuming, not rocket science. this isnt my DD, its a project truck, im ok with digging into the engine. my question was: HAS ANYONE EVER DONE IT- not: OH WILL I HAVE TO DO EXTENSIVE WORK.
no i dont have a head in mind, thats why i asked if anyone had ever messed with it, cause i havent even heard of a 4.9l head swap, but its likely someone here has, or did some frankenstein experiment in there backyard. specifically what im looking to hear is: i added this this and this and got 2 more mpgs and noticed some pick up from the upgrade, which i have seen this and it helped, thank you.
things im aware of:
cap rotor plugs wires seafoam exhaust work oil change proper tire pressure etc. thats all entry level novice stuff. whats level 2 that might hit the wallet but wont break the bank that people HAVE HAPPY EXPERIENCE DOING ?
