Questions
If I were to swap the 4.9 engine and 5 speed transmission from a 93 with a 4.9 engine and an automatic from something around the same era, what would be the entire process? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why not find one that is already mated?
Why would you not want to find a 4.9L with a 5 speed already mated? It would be not only easier but much cheaper.
Bell Housing
Clutch linkage
Instrument cluster
Driveshaft
Flywheel
Motor Mounts
I am sure that I forgot something.

You might have misunderstood, I have a 93 with the 4.9 and manual 5 speed, I want an automatic transmission to replace the 5 speed. What is needed to complete the swap? Wiring harness, computer etc...... thanks for the response.

I think boonslick is saying that the 4.9 with a 5 speed is more efficient, cost affective, and a better drive than the same set-up with an automatic.
Having said that, what year/model is your vehicle? You don't have enough info for anyone to give a good, informative answer. Information is power.
