Default Need lower gears!!!

Okay guys, I've got a problem. I'm wanting to upgrade to some lower gears in my 95 f150 4x4. Buuuuut, I hear it is a major PAIN to change them. My two major concerns.. I'm running 32" tires, planning on 33's. Would 3.73's or 4.10's be better? And my other question, if I end up not wanting to mess with the gears, would the front and rear axles out of an F250 bolt on to my truck? That would definitely make things easier! HELP!!

4.10's are a great all around gear, especially if you go with 33's. I found a great series of videos on YouTube of a gear swap. Search ford 8.8 gear swap or something similar you can find some good info. Also 4.10's came on some f150's from the factory but they're rare

So will an axle from an F250 fit in mine? And how do I tell what ratio/ rear end I have?

Shoot me your VIN, I can probably figure it out for you. Otherwise look for a tag on one of the diff cover bolts or see if there's a tape tag around the right side axle tube.

If your truck still has the sticker on the door jam you can look and see what your axle code is. Helps if you don't have the tags on the axles.

^^x2^^ door tag takes 2 seconds......IF the original gears are present. If the previous owner had any regearing done, then you'll need to go to YouTube and figure out how to calculate what gears you have.

The code depends on the year. My door says H92, It means I have 3.55LS 4x4.

Edit: Thought it did. Came across a picture with the axle codes, you're right 19 is 3.55.

I just checked my Vin. I've got 3.55, one legger axle :/ do all of these fords have the 8.8 rear end? Or was a 9 inch available? If so how do I find out? And again, will an axle from a 250 or 350 fit in my truck??

Yes, all 87-96 fords have the 8.8. The 9 inch was in the older trucks. I think pre 87 trucks also had the 8.8, but I'm not sure how far back...maybe '83? Not sure on that.

Edit: just read that the 8.8 started being used in 83. But the 83-86 trucks don't have abs like the 87-96 8.8's do
