Default Need decoding help for rear diff.

Does anyone have info. on this?
There are two sets of numbers on the rear tab of my '87 150.
First set: 812D
Second set: 273 88 7B23

Any info. would be helpful. Thanks!

It's 2.73 gearing, open. That's pretty high. The truck must be a dog.

Thanks, Sean, for the info. You're right, that is high! Surprisingly, it still takes off pretty well in spite of the high gearing, must be a strong engine. At 75 on the highway, it doesn't sound like it's revved very high (no tack.) The high gearing is good for my work because I travel a bit. Thanks again for the help.
