Default Missing Hose

Anyone know what is supposed to be connected to this? 95 F150 302. Also I seem to have a problem with the transmission sometimes not wanting to shift. Other times it does fine. Sound familiar?

Thats a coolant hose that flows coolant through the throttle body and back. Is there a hose connected at the bottoms of the TB?

The shifting issue could be a few things. Seeing as the coolant hose is missing I'd guess someone messed with the TPS (throttle position sensor) and didn't put the house back on.

Ok. the heater hose was ran to what looks like the temp sensor. I moved it. Now what runs to the temp sensor?

Any way to take some clearer pics? I can't really see anything, they're pretty fuzzy when clicked on.

There is a pipe on each side of the throttle body that coolant is routed to; to pre-heat the throttle body. Bypassing this is a common modification on GM TL-1's and I have bypassed it on my 91 5.8. A previous owner bypassed the TB on your truck; Either because the truck developed a coolant leak in the TB or one of the hoses or on purpose. The reason for this is to help in reducing the intake charge temperature to increase HP. I won't say it helps but it certainly can't hurt.

This is not related in any way to your transmission problem.

Ok. Here's the whole story. This truck was handed down to me and had been taken pretty good care of. It was running poorly though and started running hot. so the truck being new to me and wanting a good start I hooked it up to a diagnostic computer and it spit out a lot of codes. I started with a tuneup including plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor and coil. I replaced the catalytic converter and now throttle position sensor. I have fixed the coolant leaks and thoroughly flushed all the stop leak out of the radiator and motor. The problem that I am still having is at operating temperature the engine will stop responding to the throttle momentarily and then catch back up. The tranny shifting problem seems to be gone, for now at least. I really don't think it's a fuel problem but I will change the filter. what further advice an you give me?
