Default MAF sensor???

Have a 1987 f 150 2 wheel drive 4 sd manual w/ 4.9 6 cyl efi... trying service "Big Red" smog etc. The question is: is there an MAF at some location on the air induction system? Air filter, throttle body...parts store does not list anything. What kind of sensor does this motor use to work the injection? How do I clean the throttle body and any intake sensors? if any....

You shouldn't have MAF stock, IIRC. It should be MAP.

pick up a can of sensor safe cleaner, and clean your sensors and throttle body with it.

Default MAF v. MAP?

Thanks on the MAP and cleaning throttle body. What is MAP as opposed to an MAF sensor? I noticed a module unit on top of the throttle body with wiring. Looks like a solenoid in appearance. I assume that is the MAP unit. Can that go bad. And that must MAP unit must control air/fuel ration. Thanks guys. MAP, Hmmm
