Default Header/Exhaust question

I have a 88' 302 4x4 shortbed single cab. Looking to put on some full-length headers and have them go into a y-pipe that goes to a modest muffler and dumps right infront of the passenger rear wheel.

I am planning on just getting a pair of headers from summit. One of the ones between $150-200. Then attaching the y-pipe and having an exhaust shop take care of the rest.

I haven't found any y-pipes though. Anyone know of where I can get one? I was thinking of calling magnaflow to see if they would sell me theirs without the cat.

I wouldnt get the cheapy headers, they tend to leak. You arent going to find a bolt on kit. Just get the long tubes and a universal Y and have a shop fab it up.
Also, some would say all is for not, getting long tubes then going into a single exhaust.

I don't understand why it would be a problem to have longtubes go into a single pipe, provided it big enough.... 3-4''

Single can do just as well as dual, with the proper pipe diameter.
