Default Fuel cross flow issue

So the other day my 92 F150 started acting up while running off the front tank I switch to the rear tank and immediately ran better so I assumas that the fuel pump was going out. Well it's been a week and it's been acting fine ever since. But now I noticed when it runs off the rear tank it puts fuel into the front tank. My question is what's the best way to fix this is there a way to do it without replacing the entire fuel pump assembly it's a 92 F-150 two-wheel drive with a 300 i6. Thanks everyone

Every safe fix involves pulling the FDM out of the tank. Read this & the NEXT several captions:

'90-up don't use any tank-select valve.
