exaust delete?
Ive heard gas engines need backpressure my 7 .3 deisel is straightpiped and I was wondering just how much u can take off a gas exhausted and still have backpressure ie. Cat converter. Muffler everything

Well an engine can be ran without an exhaust at all but thats not exactly the best thing to do, as for how much you can take off the exhaust you can go all the way down to headers if you would like. You don't technically have an exhaust at all to run an engine, but I'd say the least exhaust you would want is headers. It also kinda depends on what the vehicle is being used for because manifolds or headers, the exhaust setup, and mufflers all affect power and flow.

you can straight-pipe any engine, but it doesnt mean it will run / sound better... what engine do you have? an old-school V8 might sound great, a newer NA V6 with no cats / resonator sounds like crap ! either way it will be loud!

I have the 302 V8 (93 F150), got shorty headers, y pipe, cat, muffler out, would the headers keep enough back pressure to keep it from stalling and/or sounding like hell? I've seen "dump headers" basically made to just keep enough back pressure and influence the flow and sound to be loud and aggressive...
