1995 5.8 When I shift from reverse to neutral the truck stays in reverse until I blip the trottle a time or two, no other gears seem effected

 

Even though no other gears are effected I would suspect something in the shift linkage is loose. There are some screws under the dash, torx head if I remember correct, that tend to come loose and even eventually break off. I would check those first thing. I'm not sure if you have to drop the steering column to get to them.
