Default Driveshaft HELP!

I have a 1996 F-150 4wd 5.8 with an M5ODr2 manual trans. the truck is a single cab long bed. Today, i snapped the slip yoke on my driveshaft. the one i pulled off is a 1 piece driveshaft and from u joint to u joint, it is 51 inches. i cant for the life of me find another one for this truck. i found a slip yoke, but the driveshaft is damaged to so all i need is the shaft itself. Does anyone know where this driveshaft came out of. Please help, its my DD right now and a shop wants $400 to make just the shaft.

Any 92-96 F150 with a 4.9 or 5.0 with m5od and 4x4 will have the same driveshaft, as long as it is single cab long bed like yours. I doubt you have a 5.8 - they did not put m5od behind the 5.8. Ever. So the only way it is a 5.8 is if it was swapped in after the fact. This might aid your search. 5.8 engines only got automatics in the f150s, and they only got zf5 manual transmissions behind them in the f250/f350 of the same age. So look for 4.9 and 5.0 standard cab long bed 4x4 manual trucks.

Maybe the yoke snapped because it's the wrong length driveshaft. How do you snap a slip yoke? Where did it break?

Take a measurement of the truck and you might find that you can use a different length. More right.
