Default 1356 sye

Hi, just put a lift in my f250 and wasn't happy with the slip yoke after driving it. I did some searching and could only find one sye kit from drive shaft superstore. I didnt know there were 2 pilot sizes and was wondering if there's a way to tell without tearing into the case,a number on the tag maybe? I'm looking at just the fixed flange, anyone have experience with it?
thx

It would probably be cheaper, easier, quicker, & better to just install a used Bronco transfer case. Early ones have a rear yoke; later ones have the companion flange you probably want.

A few rare diesel ones have a PTO port, as those diagrams indicate. Whatever you do, make sure you do the stay-arm mod shown in this & the NEXT dozen pics:

I would like to stay with the case I have for now if it's possible as I just rebuilt it this September. Yes I added a a helping hand to the pump arm that was about 1/3 through the rib when I rebuilt it to.

I heard about the bronco fixed end however I haven't found any write ups on swapping one from another. (As you stated swapping the whole case would be easier but I have new bearings and seals in the one I got). Also the wreacker near me doesn't have any broncos to dig through. (I got part #s for tail cone and the fixed yoke itself just not ready to commit to it until I can find someone else who has done it successfuly and cheaper than the DS superstore one, 185$)

That's why I started looking for a hack n tap or replacement tail housing (kit). Was a little surprised I couldn't find anything on bronco graveyard and Google search only yielded the driveshaft super store flange.
That's why I'm going this way with the problem though.

Got an answer on the pilot size for the sye flange, I thought it was the output bearing on the cone. However the pilot is the size of the actual flange.

Has anyone delt with the driveshaft superstore 1356 sye? Reciews?

The "pilot" is the lip on the face of the flange that "pilots" (guides) the companion flange into place (centered) as they're being assembled. It's analogous to the pilot on an axle hub that makes the wheel hubcentric.

Yup thats the answer I got. Any input on DS superstore? I'm probably going to take this route as there are no wrecked broncos in the local yard and switching to the bronco stuff would be as involing as replacing the main shaft which would cost more than a case alone.
no one has had dealings with DS superstore?

You don't switch to the Bronco parts - you just throw in a Bronco t-case. Around here, they sell for $80-150 used.

I'm in Canada, used parts are normally priced like new. I wouldn't get a case for less than a few hundred. The bronco case wouldn't be cheaper than the sye, but I haven't been able to find one anyways.
